John "David" Primm, 39, of Battle Creek - loving father, son, brother - passed away unexpectedly on December 9, 2020, in Kalamazoo, MI. David was born November 4, 1981, in Charlotte, Michigan, grew up in the Pennfield area, and attended Pennfield schools.
David was self-employed in custom masonry and construction. He took great pride in his work, and strived for perfection. David had two daughters, Arissa and Jocelyn; they were both the true loves of his life, and he adored them. David enjoyed eating and cooking, and came up with many customized, spicy concoctions. David saw the best in people. Even through the trials in his life, he maintained his youthful liveliness and goofy sense of humor. David also had a sweet tooth, and could often be spotted with a bag full of assorted candy. With his daughters and nephew, fun-loving David enjoyed going to the park, riding scooters, sledding, and acting as a monkey to entertain them. David was loved very much, and will be sadly missed.
David is survived by daughters, Arissa Coats and Jocelyn Primm, both of Kalamazoo; mother and stepfather, Suzette and Rick Anthony, of Battle Creek; father, John D. Primm; two brothers, James (Bethany) Primm and Ricky Anthony Jr., both of Battle Creek; one nephew, Nolan Primm; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. David was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Buddy and Barbara (Sue) Trowbridge; and paternal grandparents, J.T. and Edna (Jean) Primm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to “Shatterproof,” or to any of your local (AA) or (NA) chapters. No services will be held at this time. A celebration of David's life will be held at a later date.
