John Edward Middaugh Jr, age 92, of Battle Creek passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence. He was born on April 1, 1928 in Battle Creek, the son of John Sr. and Mildred (Ritz) Middaugh. John was a graduate of Battle Creek Central High School. He was employed by the Kellogg Company for 39 years, retiring in 1987. He served in the United States Army during WWII. He was united in marriage on July 2, 1965 to Beth Davidson, she survives. John played for the St. Louis Cardinals minor league baseball team, along with many baseball and bowling leagues in the Battle Creek area. He was also an avid golfer. John and his wife, Beth were season ticket holders for 40 years attending all the University of Michigan home football games. He was a longtime member of Family Altar Chapel in Battle Creek, and a member of the Kellogg 25 Year Club. John was preceded in death by his parents, brother; Richard Middaugh, sister; Donna Courtwright and grandson; Jamie Rendon. Surviving are his wife, daughters; Sue ( Dave) Freemire, Patricia Curry (Baas), son; Larry Baas, grandchildren; Ben Freemire, Daniel Freemire, Kellie Freemire, Tamara Cornwell, and a special great granddaughter; Alexis Cornwell. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services, where a private funeral service will take place. In compliance with the current State of Michigan orders, the number of persons in the funeral home is limited to 25, and masks are required of all in attendance.
