John Koviach

John J. Koviach, 99, of Battle Creek passed away Thursday August 30, 2012 at home. He was born on April 1, 1913 in Battle Creek to George and Mary (Margeton) Koviach.
John served in the U.A. Navy during WWII. He was employed by Battle Creek Packaging Machines. He married Mildred M. Yakin, she preceded him in death in 1997. John is survived by his daughter, Marlene Markos, of Battle Creek, grandsons, Jeffrey Markos and Jon Markos, of Battle Creek, granddaughters, Kristin Markos, of Livonia, Jamie Markos, Shannon Markos, and Gina Weeks, all of Battle Creek, and a sister, Barbara Zidarevich, of California. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, JoAnn Weeks, a sister, Katherine Casto, and brothers, Frank, Mickey, Tommy, and Steven. John was a member of St. Philip Catholic Church, American Legion Post #298, and Croatian Fraternal Union #533. Family will receive friends from 4pm to 6pm Monday at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home where a Rosary will be recited 6pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00am Tuesday September 4, 2012 at St. Philip Catholic Church with The Rev. Francis Marotti officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial donation may be given to MS Society, Lifespan, or Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice.
