John Jordan

John A. Jordan age 71, of Athens, Michigan passed away July 8, 2017 at his residence.  He was born on April 5, 1946 in Battle Creek, Michigan the son of James and Mary (Elko) Jordan.  John graduated in 1964 from Harper Creek High School.  He was united in marriage on October 24, 1970 in Battle Creek, to Sharon Kubale.  John and Sharon made their home in Athens, Michigan for the past forty-six years.  John served in the United States Air Force as a jet mechanic for four years, then working thirty-eight years as a postal carrier for the Battle Creek Post Office from which retired.  John was an all-around sportsman who enjoyed golf, hockey, cross country skiing, with his passion being bicycling.  He enjoyed the outdoors and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  John was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother; William Jordan in 1990.  Surviving are his wife of forty-seven years, Sharon Jordan of Athens, son; Christopher (Danielle) Jordan of Nashville, daughters; Jennifer (Todd) Munn of Vicksburg, Andrea (Marty) Trautman of Battle Creek, Sarah Jordan of Athens, brothers; James (Betty) Jordan of Upland, California, Joseph (Mary) Jordan of Bellevue, Albert (Ellen) Jordan of Jacksonville, Florida, sisters; Maryann Torrey of Ceresco, Patricia Jordan of Burlington, grandchildren; Gwen and Ian Trautman, and Gage and Madyson Jordan. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 pm, at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home and Cremation Services.  Funeral services are scheduled for 11:30 am, Thursday, July 13, 2017 at the funeral home, with Rev. Dr. James M. Gysel officiating, interment to follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.henryfuneralhome.org
