John Hines

John  R. “Rick” Hines, Age 74, Of Battle Creek, Died Friday, March 18, 2016, at Bronson Battle Creek. Rick was born on December 7, 1941, in Fargo, North Dakota, the son of Dennis J. and Lucille (Loring) Hines. He had been a lifelong resident of the area graduating from Battle Creek Central High School. He then attended Ferris State College receiving a degree in business automotive and later received his certification in sheet metal trades in Battle Creek. In 1965, he was united in marriage to the former Pamela F. Tchozeski who survives. Rick was employed with Clark Equipment for 18 years then with Post Foods in the sheet metal department until his retirement. He enjoyed playing golf and hot rods. He loved 1932 Fords, his 55 Nomad he bought in 1964, playing drums, 50’s music, collecting automotive memorabilia, Traveling to Florida with friends for 20 years and extended travel in retirement including cruising the entire coastal USA. Surviving are children, Christine (Peter) Szarejko, Robert (Jennifer) Hines and Vickie (Joe) Turner; 8 grandchildren. In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Rick’s Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Binder Park Zoo. www.henryfuneralhome.org
