Joanne Hewitt

Joanne Marie Hewitt, age 84, of Battle Creek, passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at her home. She was born October 16, 1937, in Assyria Township, Michigan the daughter of Willie Lee and Marian Lee (Langford) Moles. Joanne was a 1955 graduate of Lakeview High School. She worked at H & R Block in Pennfield as the office manager and retired from Leila Hospital as a Ward Clerk.  She had been a member of the Birchwood United Methodist Church. On October 29, 1955, Joanne was married to Keith E. Hewitt who preceded her in death on January 14, 2007. She was also preceded by her parents, her daughter Cathy Hanke and son in law Jim Hanke. Joanne is survived by her son Brad (Renee) Hewitt of Battle Creek; six grandchildren: Erin (Merik) Warren of Battle Creek, Carrie Johnson of Battle Creek, Jared (Autumn) Hewitt of Battle Creek, Shelley (Andy) Corralez of Battle Creek, Rick (Ashley) Hewitt of Union City and Craig Hewitt of Battle Creek; eleven great-grandchildren; one brother Bob (Betty) Moles of Jackson, and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Monday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
