Jo Ann Davis (Tobias) of East Leroy died on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Hospice Residence in Battle Creek. Jo Ann was born in Dowling, Michigan on July 14, 1936 to Mason and Audrey (Swift) Tobias.
She was married to Charles M. Davis Jr. for 58 years. He preceded her in death. From 1958 to 1966 she worked for the Kellogg Company in the data processing department. In 1967 she and Charles moved to the East Leroy area and started the Davis Quarter Horse Farm. In 1968 she went to work for the old United Steel and Wire Co. She worked in the data processing and computer department and was also the President of UAW Local 1215. She finished her career at US&W as the Supervisor in the Shipping and Receiving Department retiring in 1998.
As a child she attended the Dowling Country School through eighth grade and then Hastings High School. In addition to husband Charles she was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Forrest M. Tobias. She is survived by a son, Cameron (Sharon) Davis of Athens, daughter, Debbie (Bill Rardin) Davis of East Leroy, grandchildren, Jeffrey (Ashley) Davis and Jennifer (Jerrod Johnson) Davis of Battle Creek, one great grand-daughter Tessa Davis also of Battle Creek, a sister, Judy Decker of Delton and many nieces and nephews. Jo Ann enjoyed living in the country, her horses and dogs and especially her grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Wednesday January 25, 2012 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with Rev. Sandra Gastian officiating.  Family will receive friends from 11am to 1pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at North Athens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence in Battle Creek or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
