Jimmie Hall

Jimmie Lee Hall, age 96, of Battle Creek, passed away on November 14, 2018. He was born on July 22, 1922 in Dayton, Tennessee, the son of Elbert and Ida (Jenkins) Hall. Jimmie attended public schools in Dayton, TN. and moved to Battle Creek in 1953, where he lived in the same house since 1961. He served in the United States Army during WW II, where he fought in the Philippine Islands. Jimmy was previously employed by the U.S. Register Company, Zephyr Gas Station, and retired from Lakeview School District in 1984. He helped build and was a founding member of the Andrus Street Church of God. Jimmy enjoyed his family and friends, shopping at Meijer nearly every day, and volunteering at the Burnham Brook Center for tens years in Arts and Crafts. He was united in marriage on January 10, 1959 in Battle Creek, to Eliza Ann (Howard) Hall, she preceded him in death on November 27, 2007. Also preceding him in death are his parents; Elbert and Ida Hall, brother; Clifford Collier, sisters; Isabella Tennyson, Elsie Tumlin, Maudine Wrinkle, Mary Ruth Collins, Marie Wedd and Margie Caraway, grandson; Steven Hall, and great grandson; Kyle Bryant. Jimmie is survived by his sons; Harold Lee Hall of Red Level, AL., Larry Wayne (Patti) Hall of Panama City Beach, FL., step-sons; Michael (Veronica) Jones of Ceresco, MI., Stephen (Sharon) Jones and Stanley (Mary Turner) Jones both of Battle Creek, sister; Wilma Jordon of Cleveland, TN., brother; Melvin (Ruby) Hall of Dayton, TN., grandchildren; Teresa Eaton, Melissa Park, Andrew Jones, Keith Hall, Jeremy Jones, Kristeena Givens, Mary Ann Hall, Justin Jones, Jennifer Lydenberg, Natalie Lachappall, great grandchildren; Alyvia Eaton, Bailey, Emily Bergler, Seth, Madison, Tyler, Houston, Jeremiah, Tyree, Tavin, Torin Jones, Allison, Anna, Abilgail Givens, Ethen, Ransom Lydenberg, great-great grandchildren; Dallas Jones, and a great-great granddaughter due in February. Friends will be received from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 19, 2018 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at the funeral home, with interment to follow at Newton Cemetery.
