Jessie Irving

Jessie Ellen Irving, age 82, of Battle Creek, passed away Friday, April 13, 2018. She was born May 11, 1935 in Nottawa, Michigan the daughter of Robert W. and Jessie Leone (Jackson) Coombs. Ellen graduated from Paw Paw High School and loved collecting dolls and antiques. On November 28, 1953 Ellen was married to Carleton Irving. She is survived by her daughter: Cheryl (James) Boyer of Battle Creek; two sons: Randy (Mary) Irving and Mark (Kathi) Irving both of Ceresco; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; her former husband, Carleton Irving of Ceresco; two sisters: Elizabeth (John) Ruhman of Illinois and Joanne (Louie) Barkovich of Paw Paw; two brothers: Grant Coombs of Florida and Walter Coombs of Arizona; two sisters in law: Sandy Coombs and Anne Coombs both of Lawton; and many nieces and nephews. Ellen was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers: Robert Jr, Vern, Clarence, David and Jerry Coombs; sister, Estelle Walsh and great-granddaughter, Adrianna Rue. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with Deacon Jim Nelson officiating. Interment will follow at Newton Cemetery.
