Jerry L. Calbaugh, 66, of Battle Creek, Michigan, left us to join his family in heaven on, December 29, 2020, at Glen Arbor Hospice. He was born on October 13, 1954, in Battle Creek. He was raised in a close family neighborhood by his mom Leda Lucile (Sells-Calbaugh) Glenn and stepfather LeRoy Glenn. Jerry graduated from Springfield High School in 1972. He worked at various jobs after graduation and began his roofing career working for his uncle and with his cousin Mike at Sells Roofing Company. He then worked for Sherriff Goslin Roofing as a Journeyman Roofer and ended his career retiring from McDonald Roofing in 2016. He married his high school girlfriend in 1974 and raised two wonderful children. Jerry was always good at whatever venture he took on. In the early days he shot pool and was on various pool leagues. He could hold his own and was one of the best players in town. When he started fishing he found his true calling. He was an avid fisherman, trapper and hunter. He loved camping with family and friends and was at peace in the great outdoors. There were several of his friends that would fish and hunt with him and all were a very important part of his life. His son, Jeremy who started fishing at 4 year old or younger; Tommy O’Sullivan, school mate, co-worker, and long time friend; Jerry Ashley, and Paul Woods. Jerry is survived by his ex-wife Marilyn (Gore) Banaszak; son Jeremy Calbaugh of Battle Creek and Sonia Pawloski of Portage; granddaughters, Gabreilla, Raelyn, and Madelyn; a grandson, Mason; and his brothers David Calbaugh of Battle Creek and Sonny Calbaugh. Jerry was a good man who made a huge impact on the lives of many people. After his own recovery he continued to support his many friends at the AA hall. He will also be missed by his neighborhood family, special friend Sherry Henning, and to many more to list them all. Due to circumstances we all know to well, a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations in his honor can be made to Alcoholics Anonymous West Michigan District 5AA, 1125 W. Territorial Road, Battle Creek, Mi 49015. Arrangements are being provided by Richard A. Henry Funeral Home and Cremation Services. www.henryfuneralhome.org
