Jeannette Starring

Jeannette M. Starring, age 85, of Battle Creek, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Schaffer Adult Foster Care Home. She was born June 16, 1930 in Battle Creek, Michigan the daughter of Donald and Laura (Peltier) Thayer. A 1949 graduate of St. Philip High School, she went on to work at Grand Leader Store, Comerica/Security National Bank for 22 years, Hackett Construction for 4 years and  AAA Insurance Company for 10 years. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters, Lakeview Exchange Club and former member of the America Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed snowmobiling, boating, golfing, camping and vacation cruising in the Caribbean. Surviving are her three children: Paul (Linda) Starring of North Carolina, Mark (Ruth) Starring of Battle Creek and Toni (Ken) Heckman of Battle Creek; seven grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. Jeannette was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers: George, Philip, Charles, Arthur and Raymond; and one sister Donna Nobles. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services at this time. A celebration of her life may be scheduled in early summer.
