Jeannette Rasmussen

Jeannette C. “Jan” Rasmussen, age 90, of Battle Creek, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2022. Jan was born December 28, 1931, in Fulton County, Ohio the daughter of Clark Milford and Amber J. (Whaley) Shaffer. For over 30 years, she owned and operated Altogether Hair and Beauty Salon. Jan was a master at anything she ever put her mind to and was truly loved. She never slowed down and did not know the word retirement. She worked right up to the day the Lord decided he wanted her home to be with him; not because she had to but because she wanted to. Jan loved doing hair. She is survived by her son: Kevin L. and Chandra Rasmussen; her Grand Dog Lucy, who always kept Grandma’s feet warm whenever they came to visit; her significant other, Tom Holds and his children: J.D. and Diane; one sister Jean Hutchinson; several nieces, nephews and many others who loved her. Jan was preceded in death by her parents; son Robert Rasmussen, sister Delores Jane Wade and her husband Roland, brother Clark Shaffer II and his wife Ann, and Sheri Holds daughter of Tom Holds. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday October 12, 2022, at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with a Memorial Service beginning at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Travis Davis of Family Altar Chapel officiating. A private interment will be held at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
