Jean T. Brown, Age 89, Of Battle Creek, Died Wednesday, September 24, 2014, at Calhoun County Medical Care Facility. Jean was born on February 7, 1925, in Dry Hill, KY, the daughter of Lloyd and Bessie (Wooton) Bowling, Sr. She attended Mullens High School in West Virginia. On December 19, 1945, she was united in marriage to Edward M. Brown who preceded her in death in 2004. Jean worked for Rich Mfg/Federal Mogul, AllSteel Corp., and Eaton Corporation as a welder retiring on August 1, 1983. She loved gardening and working on puzzles of all kinds. She loved being with her family most of all. Jean was a member of Grace Fellowship Baptist Church. She is Survived by a daughter, Norma J. (Gary) Gallaway of Battle Creek; brother-in-law, Charles R. Brown of Florence, AL; several aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews; “adopted daughter”, Sandra Gallaway and a special friend, Caroline Kornoelje. She was preceded by her parents and her brother, Lloyd Bowling, Jr. in 2013. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 26, 2014, at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with The Rev. Glenn Huisinga and The Rev. Tim Smothers officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
