Janice Emerick

Janice Emerick, 85, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020.  She was born August 31, 1935, in Malvern, Iowa, the daughter of William and Ruth Emerick.  In spite of serious childhood illnesses, she had a long, happy life.  Janice lived in Malvern and Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Omaha, Nebraska, until last year when she moved to Battle Creek, Michigan, to be closer to family.  She loved to travel and had visited many states, as well as Mexico and Canada.  She especially loved her church, faithfully attending Bible studies.  She also enjoyed doing embroidery projects and caring for her pets.  She is survived by her sister Joyce Davis, brother-in-law Norman “Ned” Davis both formerly of Battle Creek, her niece Jana Davis, nephew James Dixon, great nephew Jacob Dixon all of Battle Creek, and special cousin Rae Ellen Schuetz of Mountain Home, Arkansas.  She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.  Memorials in her honor may be given to the Humane Society or the charity of one’s choice.
