Janeth Tichenor

Janeth G. Tichenor, Age 84, Of Odessa, FL, Formerly of Battle Creek, Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, August 14, 2015, at Bronson Battle Creek. Janeth was born on February 2, 1931, in Flint, MI, the daughter of Farwell and Gladys (Tallman) Long. The family moved to Battle Creek in 1942. She was a 1949 graduate of Lakeview High School and was a resident of the area until 1984 before moving to Florida. On December 28, 1949, she was united in marriage to Edward D. Tichenor who preceded her in death in 1999. Janeth was one of the first two female bus drivers for Lakeview Schools. She was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church and the Naval Airship Association. She enjoyed her flower garden, golfing and her family, especially her grandkids and feeding and watching the birds. Surviving are her children, Linda (David) Williamson, Edward “Pat” (Sally) Tichenor, Bruce A. (Christine) Tichenor and Katie A. (Chuck) Bye; 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; sisters, Beverly Bennett and Bonnie Long-Giles; brothers, Arthur Long and Robert Long. She was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Johnson and a brother, Jimm Long. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, August 22, 2015, at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., prior to the service.  Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
