Janet Wetherill

Janet E. Wetherill, age 87, of Battle Creek, died Monday, August 1, 2022. She was born November 8, 1934, in Battle Creek, Michigan the daughter of Carl Lewis and Anna Belle (Culbert) Gray. A 1952 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School, Janet went on to attend Kellogg Community College and the American Institute of Banking and the Mortgage Bankers Association. She worked at Michigan National Bank for 41 years in Commercial Loans, retiring in 1994 as Vice-President. On November 5, 1955, Janet married James R. Wetherill, who preceded her in death on January 17, 2019. She was also preceded by her parents and one brother Gordon H. Bricker. Janet is survived by her daughter Roberta L. Wetherill-Zull of Battle Creek.  Janet was a member the American Businesswomen’s Association-Mitten Chapter, past member and treasurer of the Athelstan Club and a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. She enjoyed needle crafts, reading, and corresponding with more than 50 shut-ins twice each month for many years. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 11th at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church with visitation one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Wednesday evening , August 10th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Private interment will be at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
