Janet L. Hendrick, 59 of Battle Creek, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at the Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence with her family by her side. She was born April 17, 1952 in Burlington, Iowa the daughter of Eugene Blair and Peggy Gillette and moved to Battle Creek with her family in 1955 at the age of 3. She obtained her G.E.D. and then went on to earn 4 associates degrees. For the past 15 years Janet has been employed at Denso. Janet’s marriages to Barney Gottschalk and Steve Heuer both ended in divorce. She married Allen Hendrick on July 1, 1994 who survives. Also surviving are two children: Mitzi Gottschalk of Marshall and Chad (Leanne) Heuer of Coldwater; three grandchildren: Jordan Gottschalk, Chaz and Alec Heuer; her mother: Peggy Phillips-Lenard of Battle Creek; father: Eugene Blair of Battle Creek and brother: Rodney Blair of Battle Creek. Janet was a very dedicated and hard worker. She was a kind animal lover, having 5 Jack Russell’s and 4 horses. She enjoyed horseback riding, camping and won several ribbons in horseback riding competitions. She also loved snowmobiling. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Warren of Living Word Church officiating and visitation will be one hour prior to the service. A private interment will be held at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
