James Turley

James E. Turley, age 82, of Battle Creek, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2016 at the Bronson at Home Hospice Residence. He was born October 3, 1933 in Battle Creek, Michigan the son of Ray E. and Eda M. (Seiler) Turley. Jim graduated from St. Philip Catholic High School in 1951 and on July 3, 1954 was married to Patricia (Chaney) at St. Joseph Catholic Church. He retired from the Hi-Lex Corporation in 1999 and was the proud owner of a 1953 Cushman Scooter. Surviving are his wife Patricia; six children: Curt (Susan) Turley, Gregory (Theresa) Turley, Christopher (Amy) Turley, Robert (Kathy) Turley and Janette (Tony) Roller all of Battle Creek, and Cynthia (Rick) Walter of Harvard, Illinois; fifteen grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: Rosemary Perry and Gwendolyn Turley; and a daughter Roxane Williams. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
