Nashville

James H. Reed, 92, of Nashville, passed away on February 4, 2022.  He was born in Springfield to Harold and Catherine (Kindig) Reed on May 25, 1929.  He graduated from Lakeview High School, class of 1948.  Jim served his country in the Army from 1950-52.  He married Pauline Godde in 1950.  He was a Tool & Die maker at Post Cereal and retired in 1986.  He was a member of the Post Cereal 25-year club.  He was also a member of the American Legion Post 484 in Hickory Corners and past member of the Nashville United Methodist Church.  He played the string bass in the Nashville Five Plus musical group for several years. He was also a past member of the Kalamo Masonic Lodge.

Jim loved the outdoors and was a Scoutmaster of Troop #23 in Springfield.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing.  In his earlier years, he enjoyed traveling to the UP for fishing, camping and cooking over the open fire.  As most of his friends and family know, Jim also loved to “tell you a little secret”.  He always had a story to tell!

Jim is survived by his wife of 72 years, Pauline, along with sons Douglas (Chris) and David (Roz) Reed, both of Battle Creek.  He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Tom and Norma Reed and an infant daughter.
