James Douglas Miller beloved father, grandfather, brother and lifelong sports enthusiast passed away on March 23, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering team spirit for his Michigan teams. Jimmy was born in Battle Creek, Michigan on May 3, 1950, to Eugene and Beverly Miller. Jimmy grew up with a passion for athletics. He was a 1969 graduate at Lakeview high school, where he shined as a baseball star. He was also a longtime employee for Ralston Purina from where he retired. A true sports fanatic, Jimmy’s loyalty never wavered when it came to his favorite teams – Detroit Lions, Detroit Tigers, and U of M. His hobbies also included playing golf, softball and fishing. Above all, Jimmy was a devoted family man. He is survived by his brothers Craig (Karen) Miller and Brian (Joy)Miller. He is also survived by his children Loree (Brian) Lingis, Matthew Miller, Derek (Katie) Miller, Kevin (Marissa) Miller, and Steve (Jaime) Champagne. He was a proud grandfather to Kaylin Lingis, Roman Miller, Dominic Miller, Marideth Miller and Nolan Miller. Jimmy is proceeded in death by his parents Eugene and Beverly Miller. Jimmy will be remembered for his warmth, humor, love of sports and the deep love he had for his family. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who know and love him. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Richard A. Henry Funeral Home in Battle Creek. Visitation will begin at 12 PM and a service to follow at 1 PM. Following the service there will be a luncheon held at the PNA Club.
