James E. Hill, Sr., Age 83, Of Battle Creek, Died Sunday, July 19, 2015, at Bronson Battle Creek. James was born on February 26, 1932, in Battle Creek, the son of Joseph and Laura (Paget) Hill. He had been a lifelong resident of the area graduating from Battle Creek Central High School. He was a veteran and proudly served his country as a U.S. Marine during the Korean War. He was united in marriage to his wife of 54 years, the former Barbara Heeter who preceded him in death in 2004. James was employed with Ralston Foods for 27 years until his retirement. He enjoyed watching the Red Wings, going to Lake Michigan, Silver Lake Sand Dunes and being with his family. Surviving are his sons, Tim (Monica) Hill, Michael (Karen) Hill and James (Lori) Hill, Jr.; grandchildren, Tim, Mark, Sara, Aaron, Kenny, Lisa, Corey, Kaci, Samantha, Mallory and Katie; several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Linda in 1999; step-father, George Frost; brothers, Bill and Fred; sisters, Peggy, MaryLou, June and JoAnn. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4 to 7:00 p.m., at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 23, 2015, at the funeral home.
