James Goodwin, Age 66, Of Battle Creek, Died Sunday, July 26, 2015, in Battle Creek. James was born on March 22, 1949, in Battle Creek, the son of Willard C. and Edith M. (Jessie) Goodwin. He had been a lifelong resident of the area and attended Battle Creek Central High School. In 1976, he was united in marriage to his wife of 39 years the former Phyllis L. Coger who survives. James worked at the Battle Creek Foundry, for United Steel and Wire and then Neal Construction. He also owned and operated Jim and Sons Towing. He enjoyed working on race cars and spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. Surviving are children, Carl (Nicole) Goodwin, Jimmy and Travis Goodwin; 13 grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Phyllis James, Patricia Austin, Lois Coger and Richard Goodwin. He was preceded in death by sisters, Mickey Halsey, Sherry Goodwin and Carol Long. Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m., Friday, July 31, 2015, at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Thursday from 4 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
