James C. Fox Jr., age 98, of Battle Creek, passed away on September 17, 2022, at Bronson Battle Creek. He was born on June 29, 1924, in Battle Creek, the son of Clayton and Mayme (Little) Fox. James was a lifelong area resident and graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1942. He was employed as an electrician for Clark Equipment Company for 32 years, retiring in 1978. James proudly served his country in the United States Navy and was a member of the American Legion Post #54. He enjoyed camping, traveling, hunting, fishing, and working on electrical projects for family and friends. He was united in marriage on July 24, 1948, to Evelyn W. Little, she preceded him in death on September 23, 1994, later he married Esther Rausch, she also preceded him in death. Surviving are his stepson; Morris (Sherill) Rausch of Kissimmee, FL., stepdaughter Janis Prentice of Battle Creek, five step grandchildren, twelve step great grandchildren and nine step great-great grandchildren. Funeral service scheduled for 12:00 p.m., Thursday, September 22, 2022, at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment to follow the service at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans.
