James (Jim) Allen Dunn, Jr., age 65, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, formerly of Rockford, Michigan, passed away on November 27, 2015 due to complications of Vascular Type Ehlers Danlos. Jim graduated from Rockford High School in 1968 and shortly thereafter enlisted in the United States Air Force, which he proudly served for 20+ years. Jim spent the majority of his life in New Mexico, where he graduated from the University Of New Mexico and worked as a high school math teacher and coached several sports. Jim was a passionate teacher and coach and genuinely enjoyed working with young people and helping them achieve their goals. He was an avid reader who enjoyed an array of different authors/styles, both fiction and non-fiction. He was a loyal Michigan Wolverine fan, from license plate to ringtone, he wasn't shy about letting that fact be known to all around him. Jim enjoyed driving back to Michigan in the summer to vacation and spend time with family. He had a wonderful sense of humor and always enjoyed teasing and joking with those he was closest with. He will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. He is survived by his sister, Gerianne Bovee; step-sister, Stephanie Kanine; step-brother, Greg Waber (Sue); granddaughter, Stepheni Paalman; nieces and nephews, Valerie (Jeff) Harkema, Nichole (Scott) Anderson, Brianne Shupe, Ryan (Meehyeun) Bovee and Paul Shupe; and seven great-nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his father and mother, James A. Dunn Sr. and Matilda (Cipcic) Dockery; brother Stephen Dunn; sister Barbara Shupe; and daughter Collette Paalman. Services will be held at Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 1 p.m. Visitation will begin at 12 p.m. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
