James L. Bolton, age 89, of Battle Creek, formerly of Marshall, Michigan, passed away on July 1, 2021, and joined his beloved wife in heaven. He was born on May 2, 1932, in Habersham, Tennessee, the son of David H. and Rosie (Walden) Bolton. James married the love of his life, Louetta France on May 20, 1952. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1954, during the Korean conflict. Upon returning home, James worked at the St. Regis Paper Company for the next 29 years, retiring in 1982. He was an active and valued member of the VFW and DAV, as well as a beloved parishioner and Deacon at Battle Creek Bible Church for 43 years and the Marshall Family Bible Church following that. James enjoyed fishing, working in his gardens, feeding the birds, and volunteering at Maplewood Assisted Living in Marshall, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents, his treasured wife of 64 years Louetta, sister Virlene Paul and brother Carl Bolton. James is survived by his children; Owen (Pat) Bolton, Mike (Vicky) Bolton, and Cindy (Tad) Tunnecliffe, grandchildren; Ryan, Nathan, Casey, Sam, Caitlyn, and Bryan, great-grandchildren; Natalee, Payton, Kaiden, Conner, Ellery, and a sister; Sarah Stevens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Funeral services are scheduled 9:30 a.m., Thursday, July 8, 2021, at the funeral home, Rev. Larry T. Messer officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
