Jack H. Wade, 88, of Battle Creek passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2014, at Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence. Jack was born to Frank and Pauline Wade on November 26, 1925 in Battle Creek. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Roland Wade. Jack worked and retired from Clark Equipment Co., after 32 years and retired to Rotonda West, FL., in 1978, later moving to the north Georgia mountains in Blairsville, GA, then returning to Battle Creek in 2002. Mr. Wade was a World War II veteran, serving in the Pacific Theater in the Navy. He was an avid sports fan and played tennis, baseball, golf and bowling. He enjoyed traveling with his wife of 67 years. He especially liked cruises. Survivors include his wife, Aileen; a son, Michael of San Francisco and a sister, Joan Stringer; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with Pastor David Laisum officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Humane Society of South Central MI or a charity of one’s choice.
