Jack Miller

Jack L. Miller, age 80, of Burlington, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016 at the Bronson at Home Hospice Residence. He was born August 18, 1936 in Athens, Michigan the son of Carl Leonard and Margaret Louise (Ingram) Miller. Jack graduated from Lakeview High School and played on several minor league baseball teams in the area as well as playing and coaching softball for many years. He liked all sports, watching old western movies, fishing, hunting and going to the casino. Jack worked construction most of his life, operating Miller Construction for many years. On August 29, 1989 he was married to the former Shirley Ann (Corvin) Housley who survives. Also surviving are four children: Carolyn Hoard of Battle Creek, Joseph L. (Sandi) Miller of Burlington, Sheri (David) Hepler of Reed City and Jacquelyn (Michael) Borgman of Dowling; three step-daughters: Debra Iden of Asheville, NC, Donna Rae (Michael) Robinson of Bellevue and Diane (Andrew) Peters of Albion; eighteen grandchildren; twenty seven great-grandchildren and niece Sharon O’Laughlin. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, sister Norma Jean Finch, and his beloved Chow Chow, Casey. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 12, 2016 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with Rev. Marvin Savola of North Athens Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the North Athens Baptist Church. www.henryfuneralhome.org
