Jack N. Kohler, age 96, of Battle Creek, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018. He was born October 20, 1921 in Osceola, Indiana the son of Samuel R. and Ruth N. (Cullers) Kohler. Jack served in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1942 to 1943. He had worked at U.S. Rubber Company, Rich Manufacturing, Progressive Oil and retired from Lakeview Schools in 1985. He enjoyed fishing, jigsaw puzzles and walking. On May 24, 1942 Jack married Donna Marie Clark who preceded him in death on November 14, 2009. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Jack is survived by his daughter: Diane K. (Donald “Digger”) Jones of Battle Creek; two granddaughters: Shawn (Dave) Sutherland and Michelle (Nick) Popovich both of Battle Creek; four great-grandchildren: Erika Popovich of Williamston, Alexa Popovich of Battle Creek, Chase Sutherland of Kansas City, MO and Carlye (Sean) Graham of Battle Creek; a special niece that called him “Dad”, Kathy M. McDonald and family of Gaylord, and several other nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the Funeral Home with interment to follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff and new friends at The Oaks of Northpointe Woods.
