Jack D. LeBarre, age 78 of Bradenton, FL, formally of Battle Creek, MI passed away Sunday September 16, 2012 after a brief illness in Bradenton, FL.  He was born January 16, 1934 in Athens, MI to John and Olive (Mullen) LeBarre. Jack is survived by his wife of 48 years, Karen (Dubman) LeBarre, three children:  Mike (Melanie) LeBarre, Julie (Bill) Guzy, and Kelli (Ray) Johnson; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, along with 2 brothers: Dan (Jan) LeBarre, Tom (Alameda) LeBarre.  Jack was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Melvin and two sister-in-laws, Mary Lou LeBarre and Bonnie LeBarre.  Jack graduated from Battle Creek Central in 1952 where he played football and later served in the US army from 1957 to 1959.  He worked at Post Cereals for 39 ½ years starting in processing and when he retired in 1991 was Senior Construction Supervisor. Jack coached little league baseball and bowled in the Merchants and Classic League at Nottkes Bowl for many years.   He was a long time member of Riverside Country Club and 12 years at Tara Golf and Country Club in Bradenton, FL. Jack was a true original who despite his gruffness was a loving husband, father and grandfather.  He was a loyal friend who loved his family and friends.  He will be missed by all. A Memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Tidewell Hospice in Sarasota, Florida or charity of one’s choice.
