Irene Riegel

Irene L.  Riegel, Age 89, of Battle Creek, Died on Sunday, December28, 2014 at Bronson Battle Creek. Irene was born on August 10, 1925, in Battle Creek, the daughter of Maurice and Gertrude (Bird) Mulvaney. She had been a lifelong resident of the area graduating from Bellevue High School in 1943. On July 20, 1946, she was united in marriage to Richard N. Riegel who survives. She was a member of the Baseline United Methodist Church, a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Irene enjoyed doing needlework. Surviving are her children, Ric (Debrah) and Gary L. (Julie) Riegel; grandchildren, Heather Uhrie, Derric, Ryan, Brenton and Weston Riegel; 8 great grandchildren; a brother Thomas Mulvaney. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister Mary Mulvaney and a brother, Ronald Mulvaney. In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at Baseline United Methodist Church with Pastor Glenn Wegner officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2:00 p.m. Inurnment at Fort Custer National Cemetery will be held at a later date. Irene was a proud wife, mother and grandmother.
