Ina E. Morse, 88, of Battle Creek passed away Thursday March 1, 2012 at Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence. She was born on June 17, 1923 in New Bedford MA to Peter and Elizabeth (Black) McLean. Ina was a 1942 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School. She was married on January 19, 1945, in Battle Creek to Jack R. Morse, he preceded her in death in 2007. Ina was employed by Michigan Bell from 1942 to 1945, as a seamstress at Imperial Tile and Carpet, and self-employed, retiring in 1981. Surviving are, a son, David L. (LeAnn) Morse of Coloma, MI; daughters, Ann E. (Kenneth) Mertz, of New Port Coast, CA; Sally E. (Brad) Simkins, of Elkhart, IN; and Sue E. (Richard) Tharp, of Battle Creek, six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, John Morse. She was a charter member of Westlake Presbyterian Church and a member of the Marshall Moose Lodge. Funeral services will be held at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home at 11am Tuesday March 6, 2012 with Rev. Paul Schneider officiating. Family will receive friends from 9am to 11 am Tuesday prior to the service. Interment will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice
