Hubert Western Jr.

Hubert R Western Jr., 89,  formerly of Battle Creek passed away Sunday July 18, 2021 with his family by his side. Hubert was born in Battle Creek Michigan to Hubert (Sr.) and Monnie (Wilder) Western on April 21, 1932. He graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1950 as senior class president then attended Western Michigan University before enlisting with the U.S. Air Force. Hubert played baseball in high school, college, and for the Air Force. He  was employed in the furniture industry for 45 years. The love of his life, Gloria A Reed, became his wife on November 14, 1953. Gloria preceded him in death November 29,2019. Also preceding him in death were his parents and two sisters.  Hubert loved time at the lake with his family. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling with Gloria. Surviving are his children; Bryan (Linda) Western of DeTour Village, MI., Brad (Susan) Western of Big Fork, MT., Susan Western of Gun Lake and Connie (Eric) Leep, of Gun Lake, MI., 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Tuesday July 27, 2021 at the Richard A Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services.  Rev. John Grafton officiating.  Inurnment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Kindred Hospice.
