Helen Horne

Helen (Casebeer) Horne passed away peacefully on December 31, 2011 at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo. She was born on February 25, 1923 in Battle Creek to Jack and Lima (Brenner) Newton. On November 15, 1942 she married Leon Casebeer, who preceded her in death in 1976. In 1979, she married Lawton Horne, who preceded her in death in 1994. Helen was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. She loved to read and play Scrabble, and was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers. Helen is survived by her three children, Karen Casebeer of Northport, Kathie Foster of Battle Creek, and Mark (Eileen) Casebeer of Ceresco, and a step-son, Bill Stewart, grandchildren, Benjamin Morris, Christopher Morris, and Tyler Foster, Sarah (Nick) Sawyer, Kelly Casebeer, Elizabeth (Corey) Kendrix, Amy (Brian) Babcock, Melisa (Derek) Rice, and ten great-grandchildren. A Memorial service will be held 11am Tuesday January 3, 2012 at the First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Jim Spohn officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to the First Church of the Nazarene. Arrangements are by the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home
