Hazel Wood

On the morning of July 24, 2022, Hazel Eldora Wood of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed from this earthly life at the age of 91. Hazel was born to Geter Pritchard Peterson and Ferva Barton Peterson on August 10, 1930, in Mountain Grove, Missouri. On March 15, 1952, she married Charles Walter Wood. They had three children, Janet Sue Wood, Douglas Richard Wood and Barbara Jo Wood. Hazel was an avid sewer, both machine and hand sewing. She enjoyed camping with family and did some traveling after retirement. Charles and Hazel were lifetime church members, in the church of the Brethren and later in the Assembly of God. Hazel is preceded in death by her father, Geter, her mother, Ferva, her husband, Charles, a son, Douglas, brothers, Pritchard Peterson, Gene Peterson, James Peterson, sisters, Letha Newton and Bea Thornhill. She is survived by a brother, Richard Peterson, daughters, Janet and Barbara, a grandson, David, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 28, 2022, from 1 to 2:00 p.m., at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home and Cremation Services. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
