Hazel later found job opportunities in Battle Creek, MI where she and her daughter Sherry moved in 1967. Hazel was a management analyst and supervisor at the Federal Center in Battle Creek. For over 30 years she was employed with Federal Government and retired from the Battle Creek Federal Center. She was very well liked at work and had many very close friends there. In 1975 at the Federal Center, Hazel met Robert (Bob) Timmons. They loved each other very much and shared the rest of their life together until his passing in 2016.
Hazel always saw the positive in every situation and loved to laugh, joke and have fun with friends and family. She was a pillar of strength and support to her family. She enjoyed camping, walking, biking, travel and working crossword puzzles every morning with Bob.
Hazel’s spirit was recognized by her independence, feistiness, sense of humor and quick wit. She was a positive force and an overcomer in everything. She survived many illnesses and through it all Hazel stayed positive and never complained. Her life was an inspiration to all of those who knew her.
Hazel is survived by her daughter, Sherry (Lloyd) Sain of Battle Creek, MI and her sister Georgia June Ingram of Miamisburg, OH: 2 grandchildren, Deanna Edgell and Gregg Edgell Jr.: 10 great-grandchildren, Marleigh Edgell, Kyleigh Edgell, Gregg Edgell, Linkon Edgell, Rowan Edgell, Tori Richardson, Reming Edgell, Roling Edgell, Lott Edgell, and Gable Edgell.
Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 28, 2017 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Pastor Jim Codde officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service . Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
