Harry A. Royer

Harry A. Royer, age 92, of Battle Creek, died Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Caring Hearts Community in Allegan, Michigan. He was born December 27, 1930, in Hastings, Michigan, the son of Loy David and Eliza M. (Crook) Royer. Harry graduated from W.K. Kellogg High School and went on to graduate from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Education degree. He began his 33-year teaching career at Athens Schools and retired from Gull Lake Schools. Harry enjoyed square dancing, playing board games, Euchre and Cribbage. For over 20 years he wintered in Texas and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On June 23, 1951, he married Mary Lou (Smith) who preceded him in death on December 1, 2008. He was also preceded by his parents and two sons: Perry and Terry Royer. Harry is survived by his son, Gary (Linda) Royer; two grandchildren: Vaughn (Jennifer) Royer and Angelia (Mitchell) Morgan; seven great-grandchildren: Cameron, Hannah, Alison, Morgan, Elainah, Ryan and Silas; and a sister, Marie (Harold) Bowman.
