Harold Sanger

Harold T. Sanger, Age 87, Of Battle Creek, Harold passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at Best Care Plus West, Foster Care Home in Marshall. Harold was born February 9, 1925, in Saginaw, MI, the son of Ray and Pauline (Schneider-Klugas) Sanger. He was a graduate of Arthur Hill High School in Saginaw.  In 1948, he was united in marriage to the former Corrine M. Jurek who survives.  Harold and Corrine moved to Battle Creek in 1948 after their marriage. He worked as an Optician for White Haines Optical, Dr. Slate, Lowe and Bonifer, Dr. Colquhoun, Sr. and Dr. Geiser, and then Dr. Peter Colquhoun until his retirement in 1987. He was a member of St. Philip Catholic Church and a past member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed bowling and golfing. Surviving is a son, Ted (Barb) Sanger; daughters, Kelly S. Smith and Toni D. (Don) Williams; 8 grandchildren; a half-sister, Sandy Moore. He was preceded in death by a son, Raymond J. Sanger in 1992 and a son-in-law, Kevin M. Smith in 2003.
