Harlan Loomis

Harlan R. Loomis, age 61 of Battle Creek, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2016 from injuries sustained in a house fire at his home. Harlan was born November 6, 1954 to Harlan S. and Lavera L. (Ibana) Loomis. Harlan will be remembered by his many friends as a happy go lucky man who loved NASCAR and Elvis, and always had a smile. He is survived by his sisters: Sue (Loomis) Eitniear of Olivet, Janie Loomis of Battle Creek and Barbara Bartel of Atlanta, GA; half-brother Carlos Ibana of Atlanta, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. In addition to his family he leaves behind his friend and guardian Norm Downey and a multitude of friends who mourn his loss. Harlan leaves a void that will be difficult to fill. He is remembered with love as a small man with a Big Heart! Funeral services were held Monday, April 11, 2016 at the Richard A.
