Grace H. VanDragt, 93, of Battle Creek passed away Sunday February 24, 2013 at Bronson Battle Creek. She was born on July 17, 1919 in Battle Creek to James H. and Winifred Mary (Miller) Seage. Grace graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1937. She was united in marriage on January 21, 1938 to Eugene VanDragt, he preceded her in death on Jan. 25, 1977.
Grace is survived by, a son, Donald VanDragt, of Golden, CO; two daughters, Laura (Keith) Bloomensaat, of Chelsea, MI; and Jean Ann (Jeffery) Willbur, of Battle Creek, nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and a brother, Richard Seage, of Newberry Park, CA.
She was also preceded in death by a brother Jack Seage.
Grace was a very active member of Maple United Methodist Church for 50 years. She made costumes for the Battle Creek Central High School Follies for over 35 years. Grace was a Campfire and Cub Scout Leader. She had been a Red Cross volunteer for 22 years. Grace designed and made dance costumes for the Shari Rarick School of Dance.
Funeral services will be held 1pm Thursday Feb. 28, 2013 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with Rev. Linda Stoddard and Rev. Dr. James Gysel officiating. Entombment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4pm to 7pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to American Red Cross or Maple United Methodist Church.
