Grace Kietrys

Grace Marie Kietrys, age 91, of Battle Creek, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2019. She was born May 3, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan the daughter of Walter J. and Gertrude Marie (Mroczenski) Tesner. Grace was a graduate of Holy Redeemer High School in Detroit. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and loved to sew, knit and make ceramics. On April 12, 1947 she was married to Anthony Henry Kietrys, who preceded her in death on October 14, 2001. She was also preceded by two infant sons: Glenn and Gregory, and two brothers: Irvin and Virgil Tesner. Grace is survived by her daughter Deborah (John) Bizon; son Chris (Deanna) Kietrys; five grandchildren: Sean Fischer-Kietrys, John (Ellen) Bizon II, Michelle (Douglas) Kachman, Catherine (Brenton) Burtrum and Mary (Andrew) Fidler; six great-grandchildren; sister Gloria (Stanley) Maksymiuk; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Friday, March 15 ^th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. A private interment will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
