Gordon Taylor Ritchie, Age 81, Of Battle Creek, Died March 10, 2015, at Bronson at Home Hospice Residence. Gordon was born on February 17, 1934, in Battle Creek, the son of George Arthur and Mary Ewell (Ludlum) Ritchie. He had been a lifelong resident of the area and attended Battle Creek Central High School. In December of 1952, he was united in marriage to the former Mary Joan Niver who preceded him in death in 1991. Gordon worked for Sullivan’s Dairy, the Calhoun County Sherriff Department and then at Clark Equipment Company until the plant closed. He enjoyed going to car shows and anything to do with motor vehicles. He also enjoyed collecting milk bottles and memorabilia. Surviving are daughters, Rebecca Ann (William) Despins of Battle Creek and Mary Lou Hsu of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Jason Lee Hsu of Tucson, AZ, Barbara Ann Miller, Neva Marie Bryan and David James Despins; great grandchildren, Nathaniel Bryan, Alexander Loga, Christopher Bryan, Andrew Bryan, Angelica Miller and Joseph Bryan. He was preceded in death by brothers, Jim in 2014 and Robert in 2002. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 14, 2015, at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Rice Creek Cemetery.
