Gordon Groleau

Gordon O. Groleau, age 73, of Battle Creek, passed away Monday, March 3, 2014 at his home. He was born May 14, 1940 in Rapid River, Michigan the son of Ovila and Mary (Mackety) Groleau. Gordon served in the U.S. Army for six years from June of 1958 until July of 1964 and worked as a pipefitter at Hangers, Crooks and the V.A. Pipe Shop where he retired from in 2008.  He was a member of the Little Traverse Bay Band of Odawa Indians in Harbor Springs, Michigan. He is survived by his children: Michael Groleau and Laurie St. Jermaine; four brothers and sisters: Valerie Yother, Rodney Mackety, Armand Mackety and Mary Rice; his extended family: Pat West, Todd (Donna) West, Jeff (Aleta) West, Shannon Flynn, Trichia (Dan) West, Jason (Carmen) West, Jay Flynn; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Gordon was preceded in death by his parents; one sister: Edith Bellone and two brothers: Allen and Alfred Groleau. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service. Funeral services will be held 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Funeral Home with Bill Vandegriff officiating.
