Gloria Maichele

Gloria Jean Maichele, Age 71, Of Battle Creek, Went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 15, 2016, at The Oaks at NorthPointe Woods. Gloria was born on July 1, 1945, in Battle Creek, the daughter of Eugene and Mildred (Ecarius) Krause. She had been a lifelong resident of the area graduating from Lakeview High School in 1963. On June 13, 1964, she was united in marriage to Grant J. Maichele who survives. Gloria served as Emmett Township Clerk from 1980 until her retirement in 2012. Prior to becoming township clerk she worked for Robinson’s Department Store in the fine china department and at Michigan National Bank as a teller. She was past president of the Michigan Township Association. Gloria enjoyed knitting, crocheting and cross stitch.  She also coached cheerleading at Harper Creek High School in the 1980’s. Surviving are her daughters, Annette C. (Robert G.) Stone of West Olive, MI, and Kelly L. (Bryan) Starke of Cape Cod, MA; 4 grandchildren; a sister, Janet Krause of Battle Creek. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Tom Krause. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 to 4:00 p.m. and 6 to 8:00 p.m., at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Monday, September 19, 2016, at the funeral home with Chuck VanKeuren officiating. Interment will be at Newbre Cemetery.
