Gladys L. Lipps, age 85, of Sun City, Arizona and formerly of Battle Creek, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2015. She was born October 5, 1929 in Battle Creek, Michigan the daughter of Floyd and Flaudie (Fleck) Casterline. Gladys was a graduate of Battle Creek Central High School and had worked at Michigan National Bank, Kellogg’s and Oliver Aviation. On June 21, 1948 she was married to James Lipps who preceded her in death on December 3, 1997. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son Bob Lipps; one sister Anita and two brothers: Clarence and Stanley. In 1966, Gladys and her husband moved to Phoenix and she worked at Shure Electronics from which she retired. Surviving are three children: Richard (Melba) Lipps of Surprise, AZ, Jeanette (Ed) Graham of Sun City, AZ and John (Carol) Lipps of Sun City, AZ; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson; four sisters: Midge (Phil) Brown, Marylou (Charles) Klute, Dorothy Travis and Ethel Frailey; one brother Howard (Natalie) Casterline, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at the Family Altar Chapel, 14848 6 ½ Mile Road with Rev. Travis L. Davis officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment in Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
