Gerry E. Reber, age 69 of Battle Creek, passed away unexpectedly at Bronson Kalamazoo on Wednesday, March 28, 2012. He was born December 19, 1942 in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania the son of Roy Elwood and Pearl Irene (Fessler) Reber. Gerry was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Beverly Ann (Creasy) Reber in 1998. He later married Janet M. (Davis) who survives. Also surviving are his sister: Holly (Brian) Miller; stepsisters: Virginia (Paul) Engle, Elaine Wiest and Carol (Robert) Stine all of Pennsylvania; two daughters: Kim (Jim) Hinman and Dawn (Jerry) Allen; three step-children: Jenny (Tom) Putman, Marc (Brandy) Bush and Eli (Allison) Bush; two grandchildren: Nathan Allen and Zander Hinman; seven step-grandchildren: Morgynn, A.C., Brendon and Ella Putman, Tre, Kamryn and Harlyn Bush. Gerry was a 1965 graduate of the Berkley School of music and part owner of Mastellar Music. He had been the Band Director at Pine River High School for seven years, and was a professional drummer, avid golfer and member of the American Legion Post #298. A celebration of his life will be held at 6:00 p.m. this evening at the American Legion Post #298, 228 North 20th Street, Battle Creek.
