Geraldine Nay

Geraldine G. Nay, age 90, of Battle Creek, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2022. She was born January 11, 1932, in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, the daughter of John A. and Gertrude A. (Lemon) Mayer. Geraldine graduated from Union College Academy in Lincoln, Nebraska in 1950, and in 1966 she graduated from Kellogg Community College as a Registered Nurse. She worked for many years at Lakeview General Hospital and later worked in the Obstetrics department at several hospitals in Tennessee.  Geraldine enjoyed travel, having been to all 50 states, most of them on a motorcycle. She also loved to garden, crochet and cross stitch, and most of all enjoyed spending time with her family. On February 17, 1952, she was married to Jack R. Nay in Lincoln, Nebraska, who survives. Geraldine is also survived by two children: John (Judy) Nay and Karen (Denny Olson) Nay; three grandchildren: Janelle (Jamie) Bennett, Jaclyn Nay, and Jordan (Kathleen) Nay, and three great-grandchildren: Blaise Elmore, Andrew Bennett, and Audrey Bennett. She was preceded in death by granddaughter Yvonne Ahlberg Elmore, sister Bernadine L. (Mayer) Irwin, and brother Virgil F. Mayer. The family will receive friends and relatives at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Monday, May 16, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.  with a graveside service to follow at 1:00 p.m. at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
