Geraldine "Mike" J. Nelson, passed away at the age of 80 on September 26, 2023, in Kalamazoo, MI. She was born on August 30, 1943, in her hometown of Battle Creek, MI., the daughter of Gerald and Bernice (Morey) Davis.
Mike led a remarkable life filled with love, dedication, and joy. After graduating from Lakeview High School in 1961 and attending college, she ventured to Colorado Springs, CO., before ultimately settling down in Battle Creek. Mike's commitment to her work was admirable; she worked for Wells Fargo as a guard for the Kellogg Company for several years.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Mike was passionate about contributing to her community and being involved in various organizations. She was a member and volunteer for the Kingman Museum, was a cherished member of the Woman's League and actively participated in the Red Hat Society and volunteered for the Historical Achieves. Her selflessness and commitment to making a difference were truly commendable.
One of Mike's greatest joys in life was spending time with her family. She cherished every moment with them and embraced each opportunity to create lasting memories together. From knitting to embarking on memorable travels, Mike knew how to make every gathering special and filled with laughter.
Mike's warm and compassionate nature touched the lives of everyone around her. She had the unique ability to uplift others through her kind words and caring gestures. Her genuine presence will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her loving sister Janet Reister, niece, K.D. Sinclair, and nephew Gerald "Joe" Sinclair and the family of Frank and Dawn Valadez; Mike was predeceased by her beloved parents Gerald and Bernice (Morey) Davis along with her husband Wilbur Nelson.
To honor Mike's memory and celebrate her incredible life, visitation will be held on Sunday, October 1st, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home and Cremation Services. A Funeral Service will take place 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 2nd, 2023, at the funeral home.
Mike's kindness, compassion, and unwavering love for her family will forever remain in our hearts. She has left an indelible mark on this world and her memory will continue to inspire all of us to live life with the same grace and selflessness she embodied.
