Gerald D. Edgerton, Age 86, Of Battle Creek, Went into the arms of his Lord with his family by his side on Thursday, April 12, 2012, at Bronson Battle Creek. Gerald was born on April 22, 1925, in Creston, IN, the son of Glenn and Mabel (Nuding) Edgerton. He was a veteran serving as a Staff Sergeant with his twin brother in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1943 to 1946 in the Po Valley Campaign in Italy with the 1st and 2nd Armored Division. On June 24, 1951, he was united in marriage to the former Edna M. Beckman who survives. He was employed at the Kellogg Company in 1946 and retired after 34 and a half years of service. He was a member of the Urbandale Baptist Church and enjoyed reading. Surviving are children, Randy Edgerton of Bellevue, MI, and Jack Edgerton of Grayling, MI; 4 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a twin brother Glenn Edgerton and a sister, Dorothy Letner. Visitation will be held Monday from 2 to 5:00 p.m. at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at the funeral home with Pastor Ronald Anderson of the Urbandale Baptist Church officiating.
