George W. Burrows 84 passed away unexpectedly on June 27, 2024.George was born July 19,1939 in Homer, Michigan, to Albert Burrows and Laura (Adams) Burrows. George went into the navy right out of high school. He traveled all over the world on a submarine which he loved. While in the Navy he married Maryln J. Reed on New Year's Eve in 1957. They were married for 66 plus years. After leaving the navy George held several jobs landing at the Kellogg Company where he worked for 35 years. He retired as a sheet metal worker in 1997. George also owned and operated M&S Buggy for several years. He was a man of many talents, and could make or fix anything he set his mind to. George loved fishing and hunting and teaching his many talents to his friends and family, as well as the Wrecking Crew, a group of neighborhood boys. George and Maryln spent many summers at their Happy Place on Drummond island. They loved riding around on the boat or in the ( Dorf ) his Bronco he loved so much. He enjoyed feeding the deer and birds, and just enjoying each other's company. They loved and welcomed all to join them on the island. He was very proud of his grandkids, great grandkids and great great grandkids. George is survived by children Debra Haineault, Tammi Tuttle , Michael (Renee) Burrows and Cathy Crandell. He has one sibling Barbara Rust, as well as one brother-in-law Ronald Reed of Marshall, sisters-in-law Nancy ( Ed ) Titus of Bellevue, Patricia ( Randy) Daniel of Galesburg, and Nancy Reed of Richland. He has 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter and one great great grandson on the way, as well as his beloved dog Bella. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years Maryln Burrows, sibling Alberta Burrows, and son-in-law George Haineault. He was also preceded in death by parents Albert Burrows and Laura (Adams) Burrows, Brother-in-laws Raymond (Beaver) Reed, Ted Long, Fred Hutchings, and Lee Rust; sisters-in-law Jeannette Hutchings Shirley Reed of Marshall and Beverly Kennedy. There will be a graveside service held on July 12, 2024 at 2:00 at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens, 1490 E. Michigan Ave in Battle Creek.
