Genevieve Hanson

Genevieve W. “Genny” Hanson, Age 90, Of Battle Creek, Died Saturday, February 28, 2015, at the Oaks at North Pointe Woods. Genevieve was born on September 4, 1924, in Pearl, MI, the daughter of Andrew and Mary (Dianko) Sisson. She had been an area resident for 58 years coming from Allegan. She was a 1943 graduate of Allegan High School. On September 28, 1957, she was united in marriage to Walter E. Hanson who survives. Genny was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and volunteered for the Battle Creek Health System Auxiliary and Mercy Pavilion for over 30 plus years receiving a 7000 hours plus award. She enjoyed boating, swimming and playing the organ. Surviving is a brother, Julius (Mary) Cizczion of Byron Center, MI. She was preceded in death by sisters, Helen Ciborski, Josephine Worthington and Estelle Sisson. Visitation will be held Friday from 5 to 8:00 p.m., at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 7, 2015, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
